TERMS & CONDITIONS
Each swimmer/team must be accompanied by a ski or board with an experienced paddler and a properly registered support boat skippered by a licensed operator. Skis/boards will have numbered signs on both sides of their craft (supplied).
Important: Team Swimmers and paddlers must know what their support boat looks like.
The craft must ensure they are carrying a rescue buoy, some food and drink for the duration of the swim. The paddler must keep the swimmer in view at all times and supply the swimmer with food and drink. It is the paddler’s responsibility to navigate for the swimmer.
All boats must carry marine-related safety equipment, a first aid kit, food, drink, clothing and any other necessary items to ensure the comfort of the swimmers. Team swimmers when not swimming need to have warm clothes to wear.
Motorised craft must not enter the shark net area at Mooloolaba. The team swimmers may enter the water as a group and finish together on the beach from the last swim buoy (300m from shore).
Swimmers / Teams must designate a Swim Manager, either the paddler or a member of the support craft crew, for the duration of the event.
The Swim Manager will be responsible for the delivery of fluids and food to the swimmer and is to decide on the fitness of the swimmer to complete the event.
