Welcome to the annual Island Charity Swim, held on the beautiful Sunshine Coast in Queensland.
The Island Charity Swim is a proud not-for-profit event and a major annual fundraiser for the Sunshine Coast Special Schools.
Please note the Island Charity Swim individual 10km event is an open ocean event with a course that takes swimmers approximately 2km offshore. All swimmers are required to have a support crew of a paddler and a safety boat.

The Island Charity Swim is a test of endurance for the participants and a major fundraiser for the amazing and inspirational children at the Sunshine Coast Special Schools.
It is a unique challenge, not only for a very worthy cause but its completion guarantees your inclusion in swimming folklore, an exclusive club reserved for those who meet the sponsorship requirements and complete the course.
The individual Island Charity Swim is 10km from Mudjimba Beach around Mudjimba Island (Old Woman Island) to Mooloolaba Beach.
Please note this is an open ocean event with a course that takes swimmers approximately two kilometres offshore.
Elite swimmers in flat favourable conditions have finished the course in two hours, however, it can take up to four hours to complete.
It is essential that all swimmers have properly prepared themselves for the event with the appropriate training.
Mooloolaba charity swim
The Mooloolaba Charity Swim is an individual and team relay swim offering participants in various options. The Start and Finish line is at Mooloolaba Beach with swimmers able to choose from the following:
2.5km
Solo – 1 person - 1 x 2.5km laps5km
Solo – 1 person - 2 x 2.5km laps
Duo – 2-person relay - 1 x 2.5km laps each10km
Solo – 1 person - 4 x 2.5km laps
Duo – 2-person relay - 2 x 2.5km laps each
Team – 4-person relay – 1 x 2.5km laps each
